"Sometimes spontaneous, sometimes calculated, sometimes forced, sometimes enigmatic; for numerous reasons in a variety of styles, employing various techniques, subject matter and media, I have been blessed (or burdened) with a need to create, a need to express.
"Landscapes have been a recurring theme. The land and sky impact my observations. From the vast experience of my current home on the Hi-Line of northern Montana, and my past residence near the continental divide in the Rockies, to growing up on the San Joaquin Valley and travels and sojourns to various parts of the world, (as well as my extensive wanderings in the the great state of Montana), the land and sky often dominate my experience.
"Through direct observation, personal or commercial photographs, remembrances or fabrication, my current work again focuses on land and sky via mountains and prairies. I have been visually dancing with oil paint sticks and pastels. At times the dance is representational; at times abstract. As in life, the tempo and moods change. It is my hope to make the moment and the experience live."
